"Raku"

"Raku", also known as the Grounding or "Fire Serpent" symbol is taught to Reiki practitioners during their Master Level attunements to Reiki healing. With origins unknow, it is suspected of being a Tibetan symbol first used in Raku Kei Reiki. It is used to ground a student and hold the new energies IN after an attunement is given. 

It is also often used to as a way to finish a reiki healing session, allowing the practitioner to disconnect from their clients' energies while keeping the new healed energy sealed within their clients, preventing it from getting drained.
